Privacy policy

1. Basic concept

The information of users is collected for the extent necessary to provide the services (online application procedure, etc.) through the “website of the DIPS” (hereinafter called “this Site”). We use Your Personal data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. Information to be collected

  1. This Site collects the information such as Internet domain names, IP address, and access as the form of the access logs.
  2. Some of the pages provided in this Site may use cookies.
    Cookie means an information stored in user’s computer to identify user’s computer for a web site provider and that information is sent from provider to user’s browser. By using cookie, the information can be collected such as the number of user’s visit and the visited pages.
    We do NOT collect any information which can identify users individually by using cookies.
    You may also disable the cookies by the settings of your browser as you can use the Site when disabling the cookies.
  3. For registration of the application information, applicant shall register the address, name, birth date, phone number, e-mail address, corporation number, corporation name (trade name or name), location of the head office or the principal office, the name of the representative, identity image and ID (including image), etc. (hereinafter called “user attributes”).
    When applicant is younger than sixteen years old, it is necessary that his/her guardian allows the registration of a personal information.

3. Purpose of use

  1. The information collected in 2 (1) and 2 (2) is used to provide the services on this Site.
  2. The user attributes collected in 2 (3) is used for account registration, application procedures, identity verification, inquiries about applications, and distribution of safety information regarding unmanned aircrafts.
  3. The information collected in 2 (3) including user attributes is referred as a consideration of laws and regulations for unmanned aircrafts.
  4. For the user attributes collected in 2(3), an e-mail address is provided to UA operators with overlapping flight periods and flight areas in order to encourage avoidance of collisions between UAs in the issued flight plan information.
  5. The user attributes collected in 2(3) are provided to the staff of local governments and JCAB, MLIT who use this system and are related the region where flight plan information is issued, from the viewpoint of airspace management.
  6. The user attributes collected in 2 (3) are provided to where receiving the registered information currently on the unmanned aircraft registration-book-file of the personal information book-file in the website (e-GOV) maintained by the digital department in the government, and it is used for the navigation of the information about government’s policies and measures, services, various online services, etc.
  7. The user attributes collected in 2(3) are provided to the airlines which use this system and operate flights in Japan, from the viewpoint of safety management in flight operation.

4. Limitation of use and provision

  1. The collected information is NOT used and provided to any third party for any other purposes than the purpose of use shown in 3, unless a disclosure request is made based on laws and regulations, any illegal act such as unauthorized access, assault, etc. is conducted or there are any other special circumstances.
    However, we may disclose the contents permitted and approved by this site, the lists of accident information on UA including drones flown based on such permission and approval, statistically processed access information, registration information, user attributes, etc. of this site.
  2. When using personal information, a personal information protection is deeply understood important and is used within its purpose.
    If all or part of personal information on this Site are processed, handled, etc. by outsources, they shall be considered for the selection and overseen for handling it/them as well as the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

5. Safety protection measures

For the prevention of any leak, loss, or damage of the collected information including other collected information, the information shall be taken care with the necessary measures and appropriate management.

When the access status to this Site and user’s opinions, etc. are analyzed by outsources, the collected information for them shall also be handled with appropriate measure to control in its outsources.

6. Disclosure of personal information

Any other personal identifiable information is NOT collected excluding the user attributes entered in the creation of the application information, etc. on this Site.

In the information regarding the user attributes entered in the creation of the application, etc., users can request disclosure their own personal information according to the provisions of “Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Act No.57 of 2003),” but its request shall be decided upon deliberation whether to disclose them nor not.

7. Scope of application

This privacy policy shall apply to this Site. Each organization shall have their responsibility for handling of information in the competent governmental authorities, etc.

8. Other

In this Site, the above-mentioned privacy policy may be revised. If it is revised, we will announce it in this site.

In the event of discrepancy between the English version and the Japanese version of the contents in this privacy policy, the Japanese-language version shall prevail.
